About

Crick Warrior is a small editorial index of hotels, organised into four categories: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. It is not tied to a country or a region. A property earns its place for what it is, not where it sits.

How entries are chosen

We look for properties that make a category legible. An art hotel should be one where the building and its contents genuinely shape a stay. A capsule hotel should be well made rather than merely small. A casino hotel is included as a hotel — the gaming floor is noted as one feature of the property and nothing more. An ice hotel has to be built from snow and ice, which is why that category is by far the shortest here.

What we leave out

No star ratings. No scores. No reviews. We do not collect guest feedback and would not publish it if we did. Prices move constantly and are better checked at the source, so we never quote them.

Accuracy

Descriptions stay general and true to character. Where something varies by season — an ice hotel's layout, an excursion that only runs on frozen water — the text says so. Spotted something out of date? The contact page explains how to tell us.
